Founded in 2001 by Rev. R. Robert Warren and Kimberly Y. Warren, MidCity Excellence has grown from a small tutoring program into a trusted community hub serving youth in inner-city St. Joseph. Rooted in Christian values of faith, hope, love, and charity, MCE’s ASPE model—Academic Support, Social & Emotional Learning, Performing Arts, and Enrichment—has impacted more than 3,000 students.
From the St. Joe Stixx Drumline to youth entrepreneurship programs, MCE provides hands-on learning, mentorship, mental health support, and family services that empower young people to lead with confidence, creativity, and purpose.
For 25 years, MidCity Excellence has empowered over 3,000 youth from diverse backgrounds through mentorship, education, arts, and leadership programs. Founded by Kimberly and Rev. Warren, our journey is one of community growth and student success.
MCE is dedicated to nurturing youth through education, arts, and mentorship rooted in Christian values. Our focus is to inspire purpose, growth, and success for every young person we serve.
