MidCity Excellence develops youth for academic and career success and to discover their purpose through Christian principles of faith, hope, and charity.
MidCity Excellence (MCE) prepares youth for success in academics, socialization, performing arts, and entrepreneurship while helping them discover purpose and value through Christian principles of faith, hope, and charity. Through mentorship and educational support, MCE has proudly graduated and mentored two salutatorians, one valedictorian, and many scholar students, equipping them with the skills to thrive in higher education and beyond.
Our History
Founded in 2001 by Kimberly Y. Warren, MS Ed., and Rev. R. Robert Warren, MS Ed., MCE began as an after-school program serving at-risk youth in St. Joseph, Missouri. Initially focused on tutoring and mentorship, the program quickly expanded to include music, dance, entrepreneurship, and leadership development, providing a holistic approach to student success. Since its inception, MCE has served over 3,000 youth from diverse backgrounds, representing six different ethnicities across 13 schools.
